DAIRY FARMING PROJECT PROPOSAL(arshire and freshian)

Acknowledgement:

The place has capacity for rearing dairy cows because of the ample space and the readily available grass, nappier grass, maize stalks are all a plus. However,it is necessary to undertake some education on fodder preservation.Regular check up by a veterinary is a must.

Vision:

Make use of the available resources while providing meaningful employment to the jobless.

Specific objectives:

  • Provision of milk in surplus to the dairy saccos.
  • Employ the youth so as to uplift their living standards.
  • Utilize the available resources while en lighting people on how they can utilize the available resources.

Situation:

Kieni is a constituent of Nyeri county. The place is endowed with black cotton soil and experiences perennial rainfall. Most of the population is semi-educated  thus joblessness is the order of the day. However, most of the population has reasonable tracts of land.If these people are enlightened on ways of earning livelihood, their living standards would greatly improve.Besides, all people must learn that dairy farming is a  sensitive business because:
  1. The cows have to be sprayed once per week.
  2. Regular check ups by a professional veterinary is a must.
  3. You must construct good structures where you will place them.
  4. The cows should be fed on a recommended diet.
All in all,the diary farming is a lucrative business and requires people that are strong at heart
